Anchor point or reference Fixed place on the archer's body, to which the string is drawn on every shot. |

Bouncer An arrow that hits the scoring area, then rebounds, or 'bounces out'. |

Cock feather The fletch that is a different in colour from the others. The cock feather always faces away from the bow riser/handle. |

Drawing Pulling back the bowstring to the Anchor point, or reference. |

End At practice, or at a competition, a number of arrows, usually 6, are shot at the taget. This is known as an END. |

Fast or hold fast Stop shooting immediately, and remove the arrow from the bowstring if you were about to shoot. |

Limbs The two curved pieces that fit on either end of the handle/riser. |

Arrow nock The slot on the end of the arrow, which fits onto the string. |

Bow nock The grooves on the end of the bow limbs where the string fits. |

Nocking Fitting an arrow onto the string. |

Nocking point The place on the string where you fit the arrow. |

Pile The buisnes end. Also known as the point, of the arrow. |

Quiver A container for holding arrows. |

Riser/handle The middle section of the bow. |

Boss A BOSS is used to attatch target 'faces' to. |
